I always enjoy your blog posts as a reminder of patient situations that magnify our shortcomings as a profession. And very accurately. I've been blogging minimally and minimally doing my Blog Talk Radio Show for 26 months of hospice care (in our home) for my mother who finally moved on to the hereafter in late July. I'm getting re-energized now and look forward to more of your posts and commenting on them on my BTR show. I have a deep interest in Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (mostly Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) since they showed up everywhere and they seeem to be the poster children for the confluence of the undiagnosed pain syndrome and the opiate dilemma/crisis. I've written a bit about them and interviewed "The Queen of the Dayton Zebras" and speak of them in my monthly holistic health presentations frequently. Peace,
PatA. So after one year, A surgeon advice was to remove her tumor, along with her left kidney. she needed to see someone with extensive experience in treating adrenal gland tumors for the next phase of her treatment. Knowing she needed to get an answer once and for all, we looked up on the internet and saw someone who testified about Aryan herbal medicine which she took and she had no more symptoms since then. It didn't take long before I wanted to jump off a bridge, literally. I went to the doctor and he prescribed a major antidepressant, Cymbalta. When I looked it up and read the side-effects I knew I didn't want to take it.

Then I thought I should look up the side-effects of the only other drug I'd taken recently - Flonase.

It hit me I'm one of the 4% or whatever who have severe withdrawal from Flonase after taking it for two years. The doctor and pharmacist didn't make a big deal about tapering. I did follow the bottle instruction but it had me going 60/30/10 each 3 times a dsy, with the 30/10 being over six days. The 60 was for 14 days. My primary doctor thought it was somewhat abrupt. I've been incapacitated for four days and told it will last at least a week. Oh and the prednisone did help a bit. I, as a sufferer for both conditions, struggle to life for a few years. I was forced to rest for 2 years long due to poor health. As my adrenal function slowly recovers I can pick up part time job recently. I benefit a lot from your sharing during my hard road of recovery.
As a adrenally suppressed patient, I try my best to avoid oral steroids. In contrary, it is difficult in practice during asthma flare-up. I found a study in Pubmed saying Montelukast 10mg + Desloratadine 5mg has antiinfammatory action comparable to oral steroid. I've tried during my asthma flare-up. It works. I've continued treatment for 5 days.
Just want to share that with you and I'm not sure if it works on everyone. All the symptoms talked about are common and the bottom line is there is very little you can do about them until they pass. NSAIDs for pain/inflammation. Lots of rest, shower several times a day. Always made me feel better. I used the nausea and anorexia as tools to loose weight. I would suggest very minimal exorcise daily. I walked to the mailbox. It will help restore your energy levels and other systems in your body that have been affected. Increase only in small increments. Drink lots of water and Gatorade or Propel.
